Hey, PersonalizeAF enthusiasts!
We’re here to rewind the clock a bit and give you a glimpse of what went down at our last goodbye meeting in Valencia on the 23rd and 24th of October in 2023.
The COR group at the ITACA Institute of the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV) hosted a meetup that marked the grand finale of our four-year journey in unraveling the mysteries of atrial fibrillation (AF).
The agenda promised an engaging and informative exploration into the groundbreaking research conducted by all the researchers involved, showcasting the culmination of efforts from Early Stage Researchers (ESRs) and supervisors, and presents a platform for collaborative discussions on the future trajectory of the project.
First, a dedicated session titled “The Future of PersonalizeAF” was preceded by a unique “elevator pitch” session. ESRs took the stage with one-minute elevator pitches, not only showcasing their project achievements but also proposing potential future directions for the project. The future? It’s looking pretty exciting!
Spread across Monday and Tuesday, ESRs had 30-minute slot to present updates on their projects. This comprehensive update delved into the main achievements, highlighting the most significant insights gained during their involvement in the PersonalizeAF project. This included a dedicated time for questions and discussions, fostering an interactive environment.
Each ESR provided their insight about our commitment to accessibility and those Data FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable). We aim to make groundbreaking research accessible for everyone, so we will share all our results in ZENODO!
The meeting concluded with some updates on Work Packages (WP) and essential recommendations. This final session underlines the collaborative spirit of the PersonalizeAF project, ensuring that the knowledge and data generated remain accessible and valuable for future research . Stay tuned for more insights as we delve into the cutting-edge developments in atrial fibrillation research!
As the curtains closed on our final meeting, we shared our perspectives on what a journey this has been, all over from 2020 when the project started! Finalising the meeting was a bittersweet moment, realizing this was it—the culmination of four years of hard work, innovation, and dedication. Our researchers, the unsung heroes behind the scenes, deserve a massive shoutout. Through the highs, lows, and countless “Eureka!” moments, they’ve created something that will resonate in the world of AF research for years to come.
The PersonalizeAF project may be wrapping up, but the impact it’s had on the world of cardiac research is just beginning. Hats off to everyone that made it possible, all the thinkers, and the doers who made it all happen.
Until next time, keep the heartbeat of research and innovation alive! #PersonalizeAFJourney
